The Ameripolitan website defines "Ameripolitan as a thought provoking word is intended to be an invitation to discuss the future of the music that is important to so many of us. By leaving the hopelessly compromised word “country” behind and exclusively using the term “Ameripolitan”, our intention is to reestablish this music’s own unique identity, elevate its significance and help reinvigorate it creatively. Also, because of our place in history, we have the privilege and responsibility to pass a great musical tradition on to future generations who will otherwise have no direct connection to this music."

WOBO presents Ameripolitan music every Thursday from 4pm to 8pm with Luther Jackson and  Thursday Afternoon Hayride.  If you visit Ameripolitan's website you will see that Luther and WOBO are the only broadcaster and radio station east of the Mississippi River to be recognized as Ameripolitan Friendly.  Luther has been nominated multiple times for the Ameripolitan DJ award.

Music legend Ray Benson will be hosting the Third Annual Ameripolitan Music Awards at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, February 16th.  More information about Ameripolitan and the awards show can be found by clicking the icon to the left.

Whether you are unfamiliar with Ameripolian or already a fan,  WOBO invites you to tune into Luther and Thursday Afternoon Hayride.
